It’s not by accident. I am here for a purpose. To learn and serve is the obvious answer. I say YES to that AND… There is more to this eternal life than I could ever imagine. I want the more. I want the real thing – full communion with God. I want to walk in a constant awareness of The Lord’s presence.

For me, it’s about:

  • Letting go of the numbing distractions I have collected in my life

  • Confidently walking in who the Father says I am

  • Defining what “healthy” looks like for me physically, spiritually, and emotionally

  • Creating sustainable rhythms for carrying a kingdom mindset in my life/marriage/friendships/career

  • Learning to live out a culture of generosity in community

  • Eagerly encouraging and celebrating other people’s gifts

  • Living in a worship atmosphere

This list is selfish. I think it should be. I refuse to let these 11 months go by without soaking up all I can. If I am going to learn from, love, and serve people to the fullest –  it’s going to be found in the overflow of sitting as close as I can to Jesus, and from learning who He has specifically made me to be and confidently walking in that identity.

It’s Day 3 in Chile. My word for this year is “Journey”. I have a key with that word carved into it. There are already so many stories to share!

More updates to come…

  1. When you say “YES” to God, it’s amazing what He will do. You and Kayla have done that and I can’t wait to hear how Father gives you immeasurably more than you ask or imagine! I’m so glad I get to be on this journey with you – at least through your blogs.

  2. I have a friend who has a solid sailboat named Journey. May your Journey be solid full of God’’s breath and guidance.

  3. I am so excited for you to experience all God has prepared for you in this servant adventure. Just remember He has filtered this all through His hands ahead of time, there will be no surprises to Him ??
