Do you think that God forgets how awesome He is? Then why does He ask us to sing all of these songs to remind Him? Maybe it’s not to remind Him… but to remind us!
God knows how natural it is for us to want to focus on ourselves and what is going on at our feet. Worship is a GIFT from God – it lifts our chin and sets our eyes back on the eternal love story. When we sing, we are giving back to God the breath that He first gave to us in the garden of Eden.
Worship has the power to shift the supernatural atmosphere of the day. It’s a HUGE part of my daily life with Jesus. When I was traveling for work I created a Spotify playlist called “Adjusting My Posture” as a go-to for setting/changing the posture of my day. Every morning I wake up, open my Spotify, press shuffle, stretch, breathe deeply, and pray for the Lord to lead me before I even take a step out of my room. I speak out loud and command my soul that Jesus is my first priority. The enemy is adamant about trying to steal, kill, and destroy our days. We can’t afford to give him a window of opportunity in the morning.
Each Wednesday I am going to share a worship song that is especially bringing me into God’s presence that week. Let’s call it #WorshipWednesday. Sometimes it’s old songs, sometimes it’s new – the goal is always to share how the Lord speaks and moves through worship.
For the first #WorshipWednesday – I’m sharing a song that has been a “go-to” for me this year. I’m a naturally excited person and I can get really passionate about ideas or experiences. The enemy tries to bring shame to that and say “you’re too much for people” or “you’re overwhelming, you need to be less emotional”. Those are lies and “less emotional” is not how the Lord made me. This song sings truth against the lies.
